Electricity Price Widgets for Home Screen
WattSmart widgets bring day-ahead electricity prices straight to your Android home screen. Check the current price, preview the next time interval, and spot price spikes or cheap periods-without opening the app.
Widget types
Large price chart widget
A wide, detailed price graph for the day. Ideal if you want to quickly see trends and price peaks.
Compact “Now / Next” widget
Shows the current price and the next time interval, with a small timeline scale for quick orientation.
“Price dial” widget (analog-style)
A circular, clock-like dial that highlights the current time interval. Perfect for instant “is it cheap right now?” checks.
Hourly and 15-minute price resolution
All widgets support both:
- Hourly prices
- 15-minute prices
The resolution is selected in the WattSmart app settings, and widgets automatically follow those settings.
How widget settings work
Widgets do not have separate configuration screens. Instead, they use the same settings as the app, including:
- Market zone
- Price format
- Price resolution (hourly / 15-minute)
Change the settings in the app, and the widgets will update accordingly.
How to add widgets on Android
- Long-press an empty area on your home screen.
- Tap Widgets.
- Find WattSmart in the list.
- Choose a widget (chart / compact / dial).
- Drag it onto your home screen.
- If your launcher allows it, resize the widget after placing it.
Android notes: updates and battery saving
Widgets may update with a small delay
Android limits how frequently widgets can refresh. After you change settings in the app (market zone, format, resolution), widgets may not update instantly-wait a little and they will refresh.
Disable battery optimization for stable updates
For reliable widget updates, exclude WattSmart from battery saving:
- Settings → Apps → WattSmart → Battery
- Set to Unrestricted (or disable Battery optimization)
Some devices add extra background limits (Data Saver, Autostart, background activity restrictions). If widgets stop updating, check those settings too.
